Janet Christine Tanner, 57, of Murphy, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018, at Care Partners Solace in Asheville.
A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of Robert Frank Dockery of Murphy and the late Christine Garrett Dockery.
Janet was a certified nursing assistant.
She was a member of South End Baptist Church.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Charles “Pete” Tanner; three daughters, Christy Freeman Miles, Angela Tanner and Alicia Sweeney and husband Justin; one sister, Kathy Rankin and husband Ted; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 2, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Harold Stiles officiated. Burial was in Moss Cemetery.
The family received friends from noon-2 p.m. Monday, April 2, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
