Francois Rudolpf Tichler was born April 30, 1934, in Hopewell, Va., to Herman and Denise Tichler. He went to live with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 11, 2018.
He was very proud to be first-generation American.
As an infant he moved to Rome, Ga., where he graduated from Darlington School. He later graduated from Auburn University.
He worked as an accountant for several companies and retired from Grady Hospital in 1999.
Although he worked as an accountant, music was his passion. He was church organist for several Catholic churches throughout the years including St. Mary’s, Rome, Ga., Sts. Peter and Paul, Decatur, Ga., Christ Our Hope, Lithonia, Ga., and part-time organist at St. William in Murphy.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Wallace; a daughter, Theresa Belflower and husband John of McDonough, Ga.; a son, Stephen Tichler and wife Marie of Conyers, Ga.; a son, Anthony Tichler and wife Stephanie of Murphy; granddaughters, Ashley Palombo of Loganville, Ga., Madelline Scruggs and husband Adam of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two great-grandsons, Riley Palombo and Beau Scruggs.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. William Catholic Church.
