Mark Allen, 52, of Murphy, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at his residence.
He was born in Polk County, Tenn., to Manker Luther Allen II and Joyce Ballew Allen of Murphy.
Mark was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He served during the Gulf War. He was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Adam Barnett.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Monica Dockery Allen; five sons, Joshua Allen, Jeremiah Allen and wife Mikala, Nathan Barnett, Kevin Barnett and Byron Barnett and wife Nicole; one sister, Anna Marie Guthrie and husband Lee; grandchildren, Travis and Samuel Allen, and Cooper, Austin, Hayden and Leah Barnett.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Rev. Calvin Murphy officiated. Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post 10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post 96 and DAV Chapter 73 and American Legion Post 532 of Hayesville, and VFW Post 6812. Pallbearers were Nathan, Kevin, Cooper and Austin Barnett, and Manker and Mason Guthrie.
