
Tim Cassidy, 74, of Murphy, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a native of Central Islip, Long Island, N.Y.
Tim worked as a chef for the State of New York at Suffolk Developmental Center in Melville, Long Island, N.Y.
Timmy also was a captain of the Central Islip Fire Department and a proud member of the 1963 state championship team, the Central Islip Hoboes Fire Department Truck Racing Team.
Timmy resided in Murphy the last 28 years. He was the “Mayor of the Mountain” in the old Pied Piper Development. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church.
Timmy was a good friend who was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He never met a stranger.
He was the son of the late Bob and Ann Cassidy. He also was preceded in death by his 2-year old son, “Robbie.”
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Adrienne; a treasured daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jerry Wilner of Murphy. The lights of his life are his cherished grandchildren, Eric Brooks and Amy Brooks, of whom he was very proud of and of their accomplishments. Jaxon was his great-grandson, who loved his “Poppy” dearly. Timmy also was survived by a special sister-in-law, Valerie Kirchner and husband Bill.
A celebration of Tim’s life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at St. William Catholic Church with Father George Kloster and Father Alex Ayala officiating. The inurnment will be at St. William Columbarium. A reception will follow at the Commons.
Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, is in charge of arrangements.
