Elsie Bruce, 90, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, after an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Ervin Jones and Sarah Trantham Jones.
Mrs. Bruce was preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers, George Jones and Sherman Jones; and sisters, Nora Spurling, Ora Hembree and Ethel Cross.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary (Jess) Deaver of Blairsville, Ga., and Callie Johnson of Murphy; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with the Rev. Bo Phillips officiating. Interment followed in Valleytown Cemetery. The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19.
Arrangements were entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home in Murphy.
