Richard Franklin Dockery, 81 of Murphy, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.
He was born in Cherokee County to the late Ralph and Ida Evelyn Coleman Dockery.
Richard was a U.S. Army veteran and self-employed. He loved deer hunting and fishing.
Richard was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Grape Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by several cousins. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his family, Dorothy Dockery, Doris Smith, Joyce English and husband Jim, Wanda Dockery and husband Maxey, Ruth Dockery and husband Mark and Mary Murphy and husband David; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In remembrance of Frank, a gathering of family and friends was held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Grape Creek Baptist Church.
