Alvin Hardin, 89, of Lexington, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, Lexington.
Burial followed at Forest Hill Memorial Park officiated by the Rev. Terry Coats and Sammy Alison Sr.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
Mr. Hardin was born June 16, 1929, in Cherokee County to Herbert (Hub) Hardin and Hattie May Hardin.
Alvin was a self-employed mechanic and a mechanic in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jean Hardin Jones Byrd.
Alvin will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving daddy, grandpa, pawpaw, devoted Christian, hardworking mechanic and proud patriot and U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are his loving wife, Jeanette Lewis Hardin, of Accordius Health of Lexington; son, Tim Hardin of Lexington; daughter, Robin Marie Hardin Roseberry of Lexington; brother Stinnet Hardin (Dorothy) of Andrews; four grandchildren, Todd Hardin, Megan Hardin, Michelle Hardin, Nathan Hardin; one great-grandchild, Dakota Ray Ware; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation who took great care of him for the past seven years, and also Thomasville Medical Center for all you did for him.
