Barbara Ann Jones, 79, of Sunny Point Road, Murphy, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019, at her home.
Mrs. Jones was born Sept. 12, 1939, in Gastonia, to the late Charlie Wilbur Brooks and Geneva Seagle Brooks.
She enjoyed reading, crossword search, sewing, leather crafts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Brooks.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Ervin Jones; son, Kent Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and R. L. Howard; daughter, Kim Loudermilk; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and the Rev. Tim Dickey; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Jan Brooks; brother, Scott Brooks; and sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Ray Barnes; grandchildren, Leigh Anne Gladson, Linsey Taylor, Adrian Howard, Dalan Loudermilk, Brett Rice, Benjamin Loudermilk; great-grandchildren, Carson, Isabelle, Avery, Aubrianna, Bentley, Emilia and Zoey.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, with the Revs. Tim Dickey and Calvin Murphy officiating. Interment followed in Flax’s Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were R.L. Howard, Dalan Loudermilk, Benjamin Loudermilk, David Taylor, Carson Taylor, and Brett Rice. Honorary pallbearer were Brent Gladson.
Arrangements were entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy.
