
Anna Mae Patton, age 76, of Hayesville, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Murphy Rehab and Nursing Home.
She was a native of Towns County, Ga., but lived her entire life in Clay County.
She was the daughter of the late Garten and Flo Gribble Chastain Allen. Anna was a homemaker. She loved gardening, quilting and visiting with others. Anna was a member of the Sweetwater Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ralph Patton; one infant son, Benjamin Patton; two brothers, Jack Allen and Isaac Allen.
She is survived by one son, David Patton and wife Terry of Hayesville; two daughters, Patricia Wells and Judy Gentle and husband Scott of Hayesville; one sister, Susie Owens; grandchildren, McKensie Gentle and wife Amanda, Ryan Gentle, Megan Gentle, Spence Gentle and Levi Gentle; great-grandchildren, Kalab, Cristina, Amelia, Toby, Henry, and Andy Gentle; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. The Revs. Kyle Cody and Wayne Matheson officiated. Music was provided by the Cody family and Betty Patton.
Burial was in the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Bryson, Vane Gunter, R.L. Gunter and grandsons. Caleb Gentle will be an honorary pallbearer.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 6, at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
