Oma Taylor

    Oma Stiles Taylor, 86, of Murphy, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga.
    She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, and daughter of the late McKinley and Minnie Hedrick Stiles.
    Oma retired as an inspector from Levi Strauss and Co. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Fair Taylor; one daughter, Sandra Elaine Cameron; brothers, Harvey Stiles, Herman Stiles, Jack Stiles and Homer Stiles; and two sisters, Mae Roberts and Norma Nix.
    She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Kay Martin and husband Johnny, and Pamela Christine Taylor, all of Murphy; one brother, Claude “R.C.” Stiles; three sisters, Vaud King, Eunice Johnson and Barbara Anderson; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, July 23, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy. The Rev. Gerald Derreberry will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Louis Martin, Cory Cheeks, Jared Cheeks, Isaac Cheeks, Connor Lance, Riley Cabe, Caden Twiggs, Cooper Twiggs, Justin Evans and Anthony Evans.
    The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 23, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
