
Helen Moore Lowery, 77, born Sept. 2, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 26, 2016.
She will be interred at Bellview Community Cemetery near her home, where she loved the mountain peace and beauty.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Marvin Lowery; one daughter, Michelle Lowery; one granddaughter, Jennifer Lowery Lucier; and one great-granddaughter, Zoe Lucier; grandson-in-law, Daniel Lucier; one daughter-in-law, Belinda Romano; and sisters-in-law, Debra Lowery Vess and Doris Barker.
Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Moore; her father, Sam Moore; and a son, Bryan Lowery.
She retired after many years as a elementary school teacher, and taught GED classes at Tri-County Community College for several years.
She was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church and was very active in the church and community during her retirement years.
She was loved by all who met her. She was a faithful servant of God and lived her life according to his Word. Helen rests in peace awaiting that glorious Resurrection morning.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, from the Mountain View Chapel with Pastor Valentin Rusu officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers: Bill Curtin, Jim Newkirk, John Bilbo, Jim Watkins and Tom Lightfall. Interment will follow in the Bellview Community Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, July 31.
