Rita Marie Thrasher, 80, of Gold Branch Road, Murphy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, in Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Thrasher was born May 3, 1936, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of the late Edward Peck and the late Marie Bundshuh Peck.
Rita enjoyed quilting, jewelry making, knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking. She was a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and also a son, Brian Alan Thrasher in 1978.
Rita was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church.
Surviving Mrs. Thrasher are her loving husband of 59 years, Melvin Thrasher of Murphy; two daughters, Lori Ann George of Columbus, Ohio, Vicky Alane Thrasher of Mount Vernon, Ohio; one granddaughter, Melanie George of Columbus, Ohio; and many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the All Saints Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dave Wesche officiating. Details will be announced. Interment will follow in Franklin Hills Memorial Gardens in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church in memory of Mrs. Thrasher.
