Mildred Radford

    Mildred Faye Canipe Radford, 70, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.
    She was born in Hickory, to the late Doc Otis and Mary Lou Canipe.
    Mildred lived her entire life in Murphy. She was a homemaker. Mildred loved sewing, fishing, cooking and teaching Sunday school. She attended Old Fashioned Baptist Church.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe Canipe, Earnest Canipe, Fred Canipe and Ranson Canipe; and one sister, Pearl Guy.
    She is survived by her husband, Bobby Joe Radford; one son, Jesse Radford and wife April of Murphy; four daughters, Peggy Joe Patterson and husband Darryl of Hayesville, Glenda Clayton and husband Keith of Murphy, Lisa Hughes and husband Isaac of Murphy and Barbie Radford of Warne; four brothers, Charles Canipe, Ralph Canipe, Hazel Canipe and Clyde Canipe; two sisters, Helen Mashburn and Bonnie Elam; special friend, Laura Estremera; eight grandchildren, Wesley Whitener, Tyler Whitener, Caleb Hughes, Raven Caldwell, Laura Luther, Elesha Rider, McKayla Rider and Joshua Rider; four great-grandchildren, Logan Caldwell, Hadley Rider, Maverick Rider and Lilly Whitener.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Revs. Hoyt Brown and Nathan Rose will officiate. Burial will be in Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaac Hughes, Derek Luther, Zack Caldwell, Caleb Hughes, Wesley Whitener and David Mashburn.
    The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
