
Hubbie Lee Brown Henson, 88, of Murphy, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.
Born in Union County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Von and Etna Williamson Brown.
Hubbie was a homemaker. She lived most of her life in the Peachtree community and was an active member of Canyon Road Baptist Church.
Hubbie enjoyed going antique shopping, finding stamps and special pictures of houses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Zeb Henson; daughter, Evelyn Henson; brother, Robert Brown; and sisters, Lassie Brown and Betty Maney.
She is survived by her son, Wade Marshall Henson and wife Ruth of the Peachtree community; one daughter, Brenda Teems and husband Leon of the Peachtree community; two sisters, Ruby Swanson of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Elle Fay Dotson of Demorest, Ga.; grandchildren, Melissa Teems Nelson and husband Jason of Brasstown; Corey Teems and Lucas Henson of Murphy, and Samantha Henson of Charlotte; two great-grandchildren, Dillon and Sarah Nelson of Brasstown; two great-great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren, Missy Little and husband Kit, and April Massey and husband Shawn; seven step great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Revs. Bill Dyer and Rondal Ford officiated. Burial was in the Henderson Cemetery. Pallbearers were Corey Teems, Lucas Henson, Jerry Swanson, Gary Maney, Ronnie Brown and Dillon Nelson. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Dotson, Keith Maney, Tommy Brown and David Swanson.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
