Eleanor Dailey

    Eleanor “Pet” Dailey, 92, of Andrews, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in an Andrews care facility.
    She was a native of Rabun County, Ga., but had lived in Cherokee County most of her life. She had worked as an inspector with Berkshire Knitting Mill.
    Eleanor was a member of Valleytown Baptist Church.
    She was the daughter of the late Manvers M. and Donie Hopper Ledford, and wife of the late Leonard A. Dailey, who died May 13, 1984.
    Surviving are two sons, Larry L. “Goat” Dailey and wife, Gail and James D. “Jim” Dailey and wife Sherry, all of Andrews; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 19, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, with the Revs. David Anderson, Patrick O’Dell and Dana Dockery officiating.
    The interment was in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mickey Maennle, Tim Coffey, Mike Higdon, John and Mike Bryson, and Travis Dailey.
    The family received friends from noon-1:45 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, prior to the services.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Eleanor “Pet” Dailey to Junaluska Baptist Church, 4808 Junaluska Road, Andrews, NC 28901 or Rowlands Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 54, Topton, NC 28781.
    Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of all arrangements.
