John Gilbert LaDouceur, 65, of Topton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
He was born in Detroit, Mich., to the late Lawrence and Marna Carney LaDouceur.
John worked for Ford Motor Co. and OMC. He loved to fish and could fix anything.
John was a member of Valleytown Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wonderful mother-in-law, Barbara Roper, where he is now spending time with her, and one sister, Ruthie George.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie LaDouceur; two sons, John M. LaDouceur and wife Ady and David LaDouceur; three daughters, Emily LaDouceur, Christine Hohstadt and husband Allen and Adrienne Phillips Erickson and husband Jay; one brother, Larry LaDouceur and wife Angie; one sister, Beverly Lowry and husband Jon; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Red Marble Baptist Church in Andrews. The Rev. Patrick O’Dell and son David LaDouceur officiated. Music was provided by Lisa Morrow and Debbie Wood. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were John LaDouceur, David LaDouceur, Allen Hohstadt, Jay Erickson, Luke Morrow, Bobby Stalcup and Larry Flowers.
The family received friends from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Red Marble Baptist Church.
