Gordon “Gordie” L. Amlotte Jr., 57, of the Hanging Dog community in Murphy, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, while at home in his recliner.
Gordon was born in Ossineke, Mich., and raised in Grayling, Mich.
At age 17, he joined the U.S. Navy as a submarine diver. Later, he became a trucker, a logger and laborer.
He moved to Murphy around 1980 to be near his parents, Margaret Amlotte of Murphy and the late Gordon L. Amlotte Sr.
Gordon never married nor had any children, but he was blessed with family and numerous friends.
Gordie was well known for his kind, loyal, general, joking and giving nature. He never knew a stranger, and we will all remember him and miss him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister in Murphy and a younger brother in Georgia. He was blessed with several nieces and nephews.
