Virginia “Jeanne” Kelsey, 55, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018.
Jeanne was born May 29, 1962, in Orlando, Fla. She was fiercely independent and had an adventurous spirit, enjoying both snow skiing and water sports.
Jeanne had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. Her ability to stay on task and keep things very organized lead to a career as a bookkeeper for various businesses.
Jeanne was very talented in the kitchen and an accomplished cook. In more recent years, she began to develop her creative side through making jewelry pieces for residents in the nursing home, many of whom became close friends.
She leaves behind to treasure her memory her mother and stepfather, Virginia and Rick Lindvig; brother, John M.Kelsey; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Michael Downs; stepbrothers, Rick H. (Marti) Lindvig and Scott (Brenda) Lindvig; and stepsisters, Jana (Scott) Wilson and Wendy (Rick) Jones.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, Martin Lester Kelsey.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Ga., with Pastor Fred Lodge officiating. Special music was presented by Minister R. Terry Hooper. Interment will be held at a later date in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blairsville, Ga.
The family received friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the funeral home.
