
Edna Mae Cross, 78, of Sylva, formerly of Topton, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018, in a Sylva care facility.
She was a native of Cherokee County, where she lived most of her life before moving to Sylva in 2010.
Edna retired from Baker Furniture and was a member of Red Marble Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Hill and Mae Jones Dockery, and wife of the late Charles Donald Cross, who died July 9, 2010.
Surviving are a son, Chuck Cross and wife Kathy of Sylva; a sister, Mary Ellen Mehaffey of Robbinsville; three brothers, Boyd Dockery of Topton, Dean Dockery and wife Sandra of Marble, and Carroll Dockery of Mooresville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, in Red Marble Baptist Church with the Revs. Mickey Stewart and Tim Dockery officiating. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott, Bobby, Darrell and Chris Dockery, Jerry Campbell and Allen Raper. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Yonce, Larry Dailey, Harold Coggins and Jeff Darnell.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 30, at Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, where the body will be until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.
