
Thomas Brown, age 94, of Athens, Georgia, departed this life to the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, Snellville, Georgia. The funeral service took place at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Interment was at the Gwinnett Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lawrenceville immediately following the funeral service.
Mr. Brown was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on January 21, 1924, and immigrated to Canada where he married his wife, Mona Brown and together they raised their family. After moving to the United States, they spent most of their 65 years together in Andrews, North Carolina, prior to living in Athens, Georgia, for the past eight years.
Mr. Brown’s mission in life was “to be a good soldier for the Lord.” His focus was always on what he could do for others, and he was at his happiest when surrounded by his family.
Tom was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mona Brown, and his son Douglas (Krista) Brown, and is survived by his sons, Dennis (Sharon) Brown of Harrison TN, David(Cheryl) Brown of Trinity, AL, his daughter Mary Lynn (Greg) Munago of Lawrenceville GA, Krista’s loving husband, Jamil Elayan of Athens, GA, and several beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
