
Mary Elizabeth Bradburn Stewart, 97, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Murphy Rehab & Nursing.
She was born in Union County, Ga., to the late Lawson and Zillie Teague Bradburn. Mary was a homemaker. She loved gardening, working with flowers and was an excellent cook. Mary was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Stewart; two sons, Harold and Charles Stewart; and five brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by one son, Emory Stewart Sr. of Centre, Ala.; four daughters, Katherine Cain of Powder Springs, Ga., Brenda Jones and husband Robert of Blue Ridge, Ga., Sue Whitener and husband Ronnie of Murphy, and Judy Fowler and husband David of Canton, Ga.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Rev. Calvin Murphy officiated. Burial was in the J.P. Chastain Memorial Park in Blue Ridge, Ga.
The family received friends from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
