
Shirley Ann Moore Rogers, 80, of Trinity, Fla., passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018.
She was born July 9, 1937 in Knoxville, Tenn., to the late Charles Moore and Sylvia Swaggerty Moore.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Vaughn Alex Rogers, who proposed to her after knowing her for three days. They were married six months later. She was his lifelong love, best friend, supportive partner and companion in every aspect of their lives. She also is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Rogers Farlow and spouse James Farlow, Yvonne Rogers Benton and spouse Larry Benton, Cynthia Rogers Skipper and spouse James Rex Skipper. She was grandmother to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, LouAnn Lynne Benton.
A loving and devoted wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend, Shirley devoted her life to her family. She gave up her nursing career to be a wife and mother.
She proudly supported her husband and accompanied him as he traveled the globe with the United States Air Force. She was a dedicated patriot who loved God and her country. She was a lifelong Presbyterian who loved to travel and was an avid reader.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Seven Springs. Interment was in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla., where flowers are not permitted.
