
Phyllis Ruth Bradford, 75, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga., surrounded by her family.
Phyllis was born April 29, 1943, in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Forest Bernard Johnson and Evangeline Shields Johnson.
A member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alan Johnson; and sister, Mary Johnson Ashley.
Phyllis was a loving mother. She loved telling stories and reminiscing, and was sure to bring a smile to all who met her.
In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed reading, crafting and making jewelry. Phyllis was a highly respected nurse anesthetist and cared for many people throughout her career.
She loved doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Evangeline (Angie) and Tony Ledford of Blue Ridge, Ga.; daughter, Karen White of Gainesville, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Jennifer Bradford of Murphy; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Steve DeDea of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Forest B. II and Libby Johnson; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy with the Rev. Darren Garland officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be family members, Jacob Bradford, Andrew Bradford, Sam Bradford, Phillip Ashley, Matthew Johnson and Josh Ashley.
The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Cochran Funeral Home, Murphy.
