Coy "Tommy" Keenum

    Coy Lane “Tommy” Keenum, 84, of Mansfield, Ga., passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019.  
    He was born March 19, 1935, in Suit, N.C., to James William and Laura Beaver Keenum, who preceded him in death.
    Mr. Keenum grew up in Suit and graduated from Hiwassee Dam High School. He was a member of New Rocky Creek Baptist Church and loved going to church. Mr. Keenum loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandbabies.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Garrett Keenum; and his siblings, Lennell Keenum, Hubert Keenum, Guy Keenum, Clint Keenum, Ann Dobbins, Faye Ledford and Pauline Keenum.  
    Mr. Keenum is survived by his daughter, Ramona Keenum Spence of Mansfield; he loved all of his nieces and nephews, and raised Lee Stiles, Mary Robinson and Gary Stiles as his own. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristina Snell (Jeremy) of Monroe, Ga., and Adam Lane Spence (Danielle) of Bethlehem, Ga.; his great-grandchildren, Buster Lane, Coy James Spence, Melissa Snell and Kaylen Spence; his sisters, Elease Cole of Gastonia and Eula Dean of Farner, Tenn., along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
    Funeral services for Mr. Keenum were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home in Covington, Ga., with Dr. Randy Reese, and the Revs. Chris Johnson and James Ward officiating. The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
    J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home, 2157 E. St., SE, Covington, GA 30014, was in charge of arrangements.
