
Michael Barnes, 52, of Marble, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019, at his residence.
He was born in Atlanta, Ga., to Mary Ledford Cook of Hayesville, and the late Loyd Barnes.
Michael worked for Coats of America as a twist operator and packer. He loved going to the dirt track races and watching NASCAR.
Michael enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his grandkids.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by Lily, who was his wife of 31 years; his son, Justin Barnes and wife Amanda; daughter, Stephanie Krokonko and husband Jimmy; four grandchildren, Michael and Steven Barnes and Haylee and Emily Krokonko; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Rev. Mitchell Totherow will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
