
Myrtle Garrett Chambers, 83, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Murphy Medical Center.
She was the daughter of Will and Anna Lunsford Garrett.
Myrtle was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, being a homemaker, spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Her life centered around her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Luther Chambers; son, Dennis Garland Huskins; and daughter, Donna Kay Chambers.
She is survived by her son, Darrell Chambers of Murphy; daughter, Deborah Huskins of Marble; brother, Bill Garrett of Thomasville; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday July 4, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Rev. Ralph Barnard officiated. Pallbearers were Bobby Rogers, Chance Rogers, Greg Huskins, Gavin Huskins, Travis Huskins and Brandon Bailey. Honorary pallbearers were Brody Cook, and Lawson and Leyton Bailey. Burial was in Moss Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday July 3, at Townson-Rose Chapel in Murphy.
