Cornelia June Rogers Miller, born June 12, 1934, in Morton, Miss., left us on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at age 82. June resided in Gainesville, Fla., and spent summers in Murphy.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert William Miller, who was with her when she passed. She is also survived by her son, Robert William Miller Jr. (Michelle Hinson); daughters, Marilyn Miller and Suzanne Amos; along with nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
June also was survived by her beloved German shepherd, Bella, who went to heaven to be with her shortly after she passed.
June was a devoted military wife and homemaker who taught swimming lessons to children in her spare time. June was active in the Baptist church and taught Sunday school classes for many years. She was an avid collector of antiques and a proud member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She also made a wicked lemon pound cake.
June’s life was celebrated by her family and friends with a memorial service on March 18 at the home of her son.
She eventually will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband.
