    Mrs. Mildred Cook, 77, of Blairsville, Ga., passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016, after an extended illness.
    Mrs. Cook was born Nov. 28, 1938, in Union County, Ga., to the late Sue Davenport and the late Rev. Claude Davenport.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years the late Allen (Joe) Cook and her brother, the late Glen Davenport.
    She was a member of Little Brasstown Baptist Church. She had a strong love for Christ and her family. Throughout her life, she was a very hard worker and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
    She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Tom Davis of Atlanta, Ga., DePage and Ray Whitehead of Columbus, Ga., Connie and David White of Atlanta, Ga., Nena and Charles Patrick of Emmalena, Ky., Cindy Byers and fiance Tim Odom of Blairsville, Athena Cook and fiance Travis McGrady of Murphy; sons, McCoy Cook of Lawrenceville, Ga., and John Cook of Gainesville, Ga.; sisters, Margie Alexander, Melba and Tommy Jackson, Mazie and Bruce Gray, Martha and Johnny Brackett; and a brother, Gary Davenport and Jodie Thomas, all of Blairsville.
    Mrs. Cook had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had many, many relatives and friends. All were loved dearly but too many to name.
    The service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Little Brasstown Baptist Church in Brasstown. The Revs. David White and Jeff Deaver officiate. Special music was presented by Susie Rogers and Mrs. Cook’s granddaughter, Alyssa Byers. Pallbearers were C.J. Byers, Zach White, Austin White, David Holden, Michael Holden and McCoy Cook. Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Spiva, John Cook, Ben Hogsed, Ted Cook, Mark Ritz and Sean Byers.
    The family receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Little Brasstown Baptist Church.
    Burial was at Old Fashion Baptist Church Cemetery in Martins Creek, where she was laid to rest beside her late husband.
