
Hope Allen Wood, 42, of Murphy, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at her home.
She was the daughter of William “Bill” Standridge of Copperhill, Tenn., and Ruby Allen Culbertson of McCaysville, Ga.
Hope worked as a lab tech at Copper Basin Medical Center.
She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Hope loved going to church and praising the Lord.
She loved her family and her patients at Copper Basin Medical Center and LifeCare of Ducktown, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Wade and Helen Allen, and paternal grandparents, Lake and Pauline Standridge.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Joe Wood; son, Zachary Wood; daughters, Courtney Hamrick and Emma Wood, both of Polk County, Tenn.; sisters, Bobbie Mashburn and husband Jimmy of Polk County, Tenn., and Sharon Bailey and husband David of Alabama; and brother, Billy Standridge and wife Tammy of Georgia.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Pastor Don Padgett officiated. Music was provided by Don and Linda Padgett, Stacy and Jenna Bandy and Norman Wallace. Burial was in Temple Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jacob Crisp, Bryan Keasler, Eric Hass, David Wood, Derrick Allen and Jimmy Mashburn.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday May 5, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
